Reina Silvia – First Class Galapagos Cruise
The Reina Silvia, one of the finest vessels of her size in the Galapagos, permits you to discover the Enchanted Islands in relaxed comfort. She was redesigned to create a pleasant atmosphere for groups of 12 to 16 distinguished passengers.
Reina Silvia accommodates her guests in 6 staterooms, each equipped with individually controlled air conditioner, telephone (internal calls and international satellite phone service), and a TV with DVD player. All staterooms can be configured to have either two lower beds or one king-sized bed. Bathroom facilities are en suite with a full size shower, lavatory, and hair dryer.
In the fall of 2010, Reina Silvia underwent an extensive refit and now offers superb comfort. Under the new configuration she will sail primarily with 12 passengers however, she may still carry 16 passengers as 4 of the 6 staterooms can be configured for three persons.
She was redesigned to create a pleasant atmosphere for groups of 12 to 16 distin-guished passengers. With a highly trained crew of eight, including a multilingual naturalist guide, Reina Silvia accommodates her guests in six staterooms. From the well-equipped galley an excellent cuisine is offered in the spacious dining room. This area and the top deck lounge are used for lectures and conferences.
The yacht has a swimming/diving platform aft and an extended bow pulpit for whale and dolphin watching. A desalination plant provides all the freshwater needed. M/Y Reina Silvia’s cruising speed of 10 knots allows her to follow a splendid itinerary, visiting the most interesting places on the islands during a one or two week cruise.
Reina Silvia is owned by Rolf D. Sievers and family, long-time residents of Galapagos and pioneers as organizers of cruises. Their entire operation is managed in accordance with International Safety Management (ISM) procedures.
As one of Ecuador’s leading conservation organizations, Conservacion y Desarrollo developed the Smart Voyager sustainable tourism certification program, which awards its seal of approval to tour boat operators and hotels in Ecuador who meet a set of strict conservation standards for protecting the environment, wildlife and the well-being of workers and local communities.
